Matthew Wordell is a multi-disciplinary creative, entrepreneur, photographer, mentor, and PhD student living and working in Boise, Idaho. He is the co-founder of Visionkit Studio and co-principal investigator for the Idaho Music Census.

Over the years, his work has run the gamut from international volcanological documentary projects in the soaring elevations of Guatemala and scorching equatorial heat of Papua New Guinea to creating state-wide FEMA funded projects aimed at recruiting volunteer firefighters in rural America and leading visual execution for top performing campaigns for Micron and other brands. He has volunteered and supported numerous other organizations through creative projects, campaigns, and public art installations.

As the Photography Director for Treefort Music Fest from 2014-2023, he had the opportunity to share skills with young, aspiring photographers through comprehensive volunteer and U21 programs, facilitating space for a positive and empowering community to grow around creativity and supported personal growth.

Most recently, he has enrolled in Boise State’s Public Policy and Administration PhD program where he works for Idaho Policy Institute and has co-developed the Idaho Music Census through a collaborative research group called Amplifying Impact with the goal of exploring the needs of the state wide creative economy and its leaders.
